This B2-C1 worksheet for group conversation starts with the warm-up activity in which students need to choose two topics from a list of four and share their experiences in the chosen areas. The topics are related to jobs and careers (e.g. qualities a person needs to do a job you currently have). Then, students read four quotes by famous people and need to explain what they think they mean. They also say whether any of them applies to their experience. Next, students discuss some questions about careers and professions. They share their experience with making career choices, share their views on career advisors, and compare choosing a career today and in the past. They also have to list professions that will probably disappear soon and talk about emerging jobs that didn’t exist a decade ago. The goal of each lesson is to discuss a specific topic, expand vocabulary, and improve the student's confidence as an English speaker in a relaxed and fun environment. Since this is a conversation class, I encourage each student to speak openly with other students. Ask questions and share your opinions! Due to this being a group lesson, students will not be corrected individually. Instead, collective corrections will be noted and sent to each student at the end of the class.
