シシャモ/ししゃも…魚の名前。小さい魚。
漁/りょう…海や湖で魚をとる
高値/たかね…高い値段
取引/とりひき…物を売ったり買ったりして、お金をあげたりもらったりすること。
太平洋/たいへいよう…北海道の南・東にある海
沿岸/えんがん…海、川、湖の近い場所

(Manten tus promesas), Les contare lo que pienso sobre llevar un diario, mi experiencia y por qué llevar un diario es una buena idea para mejorar en el aprendizaje de idiomas. Explico cómo escribir en el diario de manera regular y constante te ayuda a practicar el idioma y a desarrollar tu fluidez y vocabulario. También hablo sobre cómo el diario te permite reflexionar sobre tu progreso y registrar nuevas palabras y expresiones que aprendas. Además, doy algunas ideas sobre qué escribir en el diario y cómo hacerlo de manera efectiva. Si estás aprendiendo un idioma y quieres mejorar tu fluidez y vocabulario, ¡este episodio es para ti!

DOCTOR: What seems to be the problem?
CATHY: Well, I have a bad cough and a sore throat. I also have 
a headache.
DOCTOR: How long have you had these symptoms?
CATHY: About three days now. And I’m really tired, too.
DOCTOR: Hmm. It sounds like you’ve got the flu. Take aspirin
every four hours and get plenty of rest. Make sure you 
drink lots of fluids. Call me if you’re still sick next week.
CATHY: OK, thanks

LANGUAGE NOTES 
• What seems to be the problem? means “What is the problem?” Notice that the intonation 
falls at the end of the question. The doctor wants information, not a “yes/no” answer.
• Well is used as an introductory word. Notice how the vowel is drawn out, to sound like 
“Weeeeeell …” This can be used as a way to “buy time” while you think about what you 
want to say next.
• A bad cough … a sore throat … a headache: Notice the article “a” before each symptom.
• About is used to mean “more or less.” It’s used here to give an estimate of time.
• Take aspirin … get rest … Make sure … Call me: Notice the doctor uses the simple tense 
here to give instructions. This is the imperative form of the verb.
• Still sick means “continue to be sick.”

日本では、今年がんばることを年のはじめに決めることが多いです。
一年の計は元旦にあり
ということわざもあります。
今年1年がうまくいくかは、はじめのプランが大切だということですね。

ということで、みなさんはどんなことをがんばりたいと思いますか？日本語を勉強するのはもちろん、かもしれませんが、何をがんばりますか？例えばオンラインレッスンをたくさんする、とか、Podcastをたくさん聞く、とか、日本の本をたくさん読む、とかいろいろありますね。

僕は、英語の勉強の為に、英語の本を何か読もうかなと考えています。今は日本のニュースを英語で読む練習をしています。今までは聴くだけで、全然読んでいませんでした。

でも、最近ニュースを英語で読みはじめてから、vocabularyが増えたり、文法がわかるようになったり、読む時にどこで切ると読みやすいか、というのもわかるようになってきました。もちろん、まだまだ練習は必要ですけどね。

ですので、今年はステップアップして、英語の本を読もうかなと考えています。英語を勉強するためのオススメの本かあれば教えてください！

今年の目標を日本語で話したい！という方は、ぜひオンラインレッスンでお話しましょう！
新しい年になると、なぜか気持ちがリフレッシュしたかんじになって、新しいことをがんばろう！という気持ちになりますよね。
