한국에서 새로운 집으로 이사한 후, 친지나 친구들을 초대하여 함께 축하하는 '집들이' 문화는 오랜 전통을 지니고 있습니다. 이러한 모임은 새로운 거주지에서의 안녕과 행복을 기원하며, 가족과 지인들과의 유대를 강화하는 중요한 사회적 행사로 자리매김해 왔습니다.

전통적으로, 집들이는 이사 후 빠른 시일 내에 열렸으며, 초대받은 손님들은 주로 쌀, 세제, 휴지 등 실용적인 선물을 준비하곤 했습니다. 이러한 선물은 새로운 시작을 축복하고, 집안의 번영과 풍요를 기원하는 의미를 담고 있습니다.

최근에는 생활 양식과 가치관의 변화에 따라 집들이 문화에도 변화의 바람이 불고 있습니다. 바쁜 현대인들은 전통적인 집들이 대신, 소규모의 캐주얼한 모임이나 온라인을 통한 축하 메시지로 대체하기도 합니다. 또한, 선물 문화도 변화하여, 현금이나 기프트 카드, 혹은 집주인의 취향에 맞춘 맞춤형 선물을 준비하는 경향이 늘어나고 있습니다.
