Questions Americans Ask and Tag Questions (right? you know?) | Real American English #117
Opis
"Where you are going?" "You want tea?" "Don't you like it?" "Yes." Questions cause many small breakdowns at home. Many languages make a question just by raising the voice, or keep the normal word order, so learners translate directly and leave out "do." Even trickier, in some languages "yes" to a negative question means "yes, I agree, I don't." In English it means the opposite. In this episode you learn the question patterns Americans use, the little tags at the end like "right?" and "isn't it?", and how to answer without confusion.
In this episode:
• Word order: the helper comes first
• Casual short questions and melody
• Tag questions
• Easy tags: right? huh? you know?
• Negative questions and how to answer
• Practice
• Self-check questions with answers
