Ни первое и ни второе, это просто факт нашей повседневной жизни. Так что же такое советы, зачем люди просят дать им совет, и почему советуют сами?
Что такое совет? Это чужой взгляд на какую-то конкретную ситуацию. 
Зачем же просят советов? Многие отвечают на этот вопрос так: чтобы узнать мнение других людей о моей ситуации, узнать как и кто поступал в аналогичной ситуации. Это красивый ответ нашего сознания на этот вопрос. Но дело в том, что жизнь каждого человека уникальна, и каждый получает свой собственный жизненный опыт. И то решение, которое хорошо в одной ситуации и для одного человека, может быть далеко не так хорошо для другой ситуации и другого человека. Но тому, кто просит совета это кажется сущим пустяком или вовсе не приходит в голову.
Можно, конечно, выслушать мнение окружающих и поступить так, как считаешь нужным. Но тогда зачем же спрашивать? В этом случае спрашивают чаще всего за тем, чтобы утвердиться в собственной правоте, получить поддержку. И если мнение советчиков не совпадает с тем, что думает тот, кто в данном случае просит совета, то этот проситель совета негодует: «Да что вы понимаете в моей жизни!».
Ещё одна причина почему человек просит совета, это недостаток внимания. Человеку в жизни не хватает внимания, и прося совета он просто просит уделить ему внимание. Вопрос, относительно которого он просит совета, его в общем-то и не волнует, это просто повод, а главное, что нужно человеку, это внимание к его персоне.
Таким образом, совет человек просит, потому что не уверен в себе, не уверен в том, что сам способен принять правильное решение, и ему нужно либо готовое решение, либо подтверждение уже принятого им решения; либо человеку не хватает внимания. Но человек получает только иллюзию переложенной ответственности или получаемой им поддержки. Потому что самая главная поддержка в жизни каждого человека – это он сам. И самое главное внимание, которое он может получить в жизни, это его собственное внимательное отношение к себе единственному..
