Most of parents having their children celebrate the growth of them and pray their health and good future.  In November, we can see many families wearing Kimono in shrines and temples. 七五三は、子どもの成長をお祝いする行事です。　昔、子どもの成長に合わせて、3歳、5歳、7歳のときに儀式が行われていました。3歳の行事はそれまで坊主頭だった子どもたちが髪を伸ばし始めるための「髪置（かみおき）」という行事でした。　5歳になると「袴着（はかまぎ）」という、初めて袴をはく儀式が行われていました。そして7歳になると「帯解き（おびとき）」といって、着物を子どもの着方から　大人と同じ着方に変える儀式をして、初めて帯を締めてあげていました。これらの儀式はなぜ行われていたのでしょうか。　それは、昔は今よりも子どもが死ぬ確率が高かったので、子どもが無事に成長することを祈る必要があったからです。それが、形を変えて　子どもの成長を祝う七五三という伝統行事として今も残っているのです。
　七五三は11月15日に行うのが一般的です。　でも、お休みの日ではないので、11月に各家庭の都合のよい休日に七五三のお祝いをしているようです。　11月になると毎週末に神社にお参りをする親子を見かけるようになります。女の子は、ピンクや赤の花柄の着物を着せてもらっている子どもが多いです。男の子は、羽織袴やスーツを着ていたりしています。　和装の場合は、履物も靴ではなく、着物用の草履を履いています。普段は着ることのない着物や草履なので、歩きにくそうですが、特別な衣装を着せてもらってどの子どもたちも嬉しそうです。
七五三の1日は、親にとっては大変な日です。　まず　事前に予約した写真館に行って、子どものヘアメイクをしてもらい、着物を着せてもらいます。そして、家族写真と子どもの晴れ姿の写真を撮影してもらいます。それから、神社にお参りに行きます。神社でお祓いなどの一連の儀式が終ったら、食事に行きます。これが一般的な七五三の1日のスケジュールです。　かなり疲れます。
我が家では、息子が5歳のときに七五三のお祝いをしました。着物を着せると高いので、スーツで神社にお参りに行きました。そのときはお友だち家族も一緒で、とても楽しく過ごすことができました。しかし、その後、友だちが羽織袴を着て刀を持ってポーズをとっている写真を息子が見たときのことです。「ぼくも、あれが着たい」と言い出したのです。私はしまった！と思いましたが、もう後の祭りです。
子どもにとっても私たち親にとっても、一生に一度しかないお祝いですから、もう一度　写真館で着物姿の写真も撮ることにしました。はっきり覚えていませんが、それだけで数万円したと記憶しています。でも、着物を着て刀を持ってポーズする息子は　とても嬉しそうで、してあげてよかったと思いました。親ばかですね。

Ce matin, sortant de son terrier, Romarin, le lapin, a trouvé l’étang gelé.
- Venez, les enfants, nous allons patiner.
Quelle joie, tous les lapereaux ont chaussé leurs patins et se sont élancés sur la glace.
- Attendez-moi, j'arrive, crie l'âne Désiré. 
- Non, tu vas casser la glace, tu es trop lourd, répond Romarin. 
Désiré n'écoute pas et avance sur l’étang… Craque! La glace se fend et il tombe dans l'eau glacée. 
- Vite, une corde, ordonne Romarin, nous allons l'attacher par la queue et le tirer tous ensemble.
