Yes, I've traveled alone in many countries. The first journey wasn't alone because I went with my friend and her husband. It's just a one day trip to Myanmar. That's my first time traveling overseas but not by own.
If I didn't get this wrong, Australia was the second country which I traveled to. On that trip, I had only 10 days, flying to 3 different towns, which are Brisbane, Port Mcquirie and Sydney. It was one of my most impression experience that I will not forget.
Then, I traveled back again to Myanmar to volunteer as an English teacher in a small private school.
Next, I traveled to Malaysia, Singapore and Laos. Including Thailand, I've been half way to visit all the countries in South East Asia. I need 5 more countries to go, which is still a plan in my life. Brunei, Indonesia, The Phillipines, Vietnam and Cambodia are those 5 countries left.
I have a reason of why my goals are just my neighboring countries, the reason may be crazy but I'm just affordable regarding to me income.
I just wanna give myself a reward from hard working. If I want to wait to travel to Europe, or America, maybe I wouldn't have a chance or not enough money or I might have to loan some money (for instance is using my credit card or ask for a personal loan).
I also found out that SEA people are so friendly and kind. Totally different from Japanese people, I went there with my friend.
I was always lucky to meet new friends from many different countries and they are very kind to me, even I'm Thai. The receptionist, a hostel or a 4 star hotel, doesn't make any differences to me. I feel safe, enjoyable and also grateful to make new friends, whom I had just known to smile and be happy together during our chat.
To be honest, I'm missing that kind of life style. I normally travel overseas by myself once or twice a year. I'm waiting for that day to come and I believe everybody does too.
Have faith & stay positive. 🕉 GOD BLESS YOU ✝️ THIS TOO SHALL PASS ✅

Hi Rudi. Thanks for talking about your travels, i enjoy swapping stories/tips. I'm lucky to have traveled to most countries, often alone, often inexpensively, but I'm a guy so security doesn't worry me. It's easier to meet new people and make travel decisions alone, but travel buddies can support each other and share memories.
I'm in SEAsia rather than London now and italki has become my substitute for travel due to Covid restrictions. It's kind of addictive to meet new people and learn about cultural differences so enjoy your italki virtual-travels whilst staying safe at home and planning future trips.
