Do we use 'the German' to mean German people in general?
For example,
The French like to go to the bar just like the German. (I made this up.)
Should I say 'the German' or 'the Germans' here?
:)
It would be “Germans” the only reason we say “the”before French is because the word French cannot be plural on its own (frenchs/frenches) the same situation with The Japanese or The Spanish
And of course it’s more common to just add “people” (ex: Japanese people)
