Yes, it’s a boule. A bowl [noun, pronounced /bəʊl/ in British English*] is an item of table crockery to hold liquids for serving or eating.
Bowling [noun] is similar to boules in that balls are rolled [but not thrown] at a target.
*you can listen to both American and RP British pronunciation on www.dictionary.cambridge.org or www.macmillandictionary.com
The official name for boules is pétanque.

In England it’s known as ‘boules’ [pronounced ‘bool’ ] as in French, from where it comes.

Where I grew up in Australia we called this game Bocce (pronounced boch-ee) and the balls were simply "Bocce Balls"

In America, we call this sport bocci-ball (but we say it like "botcheeee").
We might also call the ball a "bocci ball" or just a ball.
This could vary in different parts of the country, but that is what we called it in the Northeast.
Good luck!

In the United States we think of it as an Italian sport played mostly by Italian-Americans. We spell it "bocce," we pronounce it "BAH-chee." I don't know any special name for the balls; I think they are just "bocce balls," like "tennis balls" or "golf balls" or "croquet balls" or "soccer balls."
