Is this correct? well written? I dedicate this thesis to my family, friends and professors who during the carrying out of this research gave me a word of support.

The last part of the sentence is not very idiomatic. I would word it something like "...who supported me during this research", "....who supported me while I carried out this research", or something like "....who offered me words of support while I carried out this research". Congrats on your thesis!
