The community, as we used to know it, is dead. Almost all the old participants have gone, and the forum which has replaced ‘Discussions’ is mainly used by people seeking language partners. There were so many issues arising from complaints about posts on the previous discussion board that Italki, it seems, decided to get rid of it in that format.

Hello Kalina, happy to see your post here. I think Adrian is right and it's actually sad that the community isn't as interesting as before. I jus started to use this part after the web version became available and I really hope we can see more discussions and old participants again

Hello Kalina, Som, Fatemeh, Adrian :) Since the “upgrade”, it’s all language partner requests, all the time. Additionally, the ability to post pictures seems to have attracted a lot of scammers. Not to mention some tutors are even posting pictures more suited to a fashion magazine.... Oh well, it’s nice to see a few of the interesting people on this thread, at least. Of course, I only found it by visiting Som’s profile — most actual discussions get pushed down really fast. By the way, has anyone actually commented on the “editors picks”? We see the same ones 24/7 in the righthand margin, but nobody ever seems to comment on them….

Hi Kalina, how have you been? As Adrian says, discussions are now a thing of past on this platform, no doubt by design than by accident. It's got bad enough now for me not to come around in months.

I hope that now when the web version is read the old participants will be back and we will enjoy our previous discussions.
