Hello guys, I just have a question. I'm not sure which sentence is correct. Thanks in advance. He can figure out things very quickly. or He can figure things out very quickly.

Hi Dennis, In this case, "figure things out" sounds more natural, since "things" is short, one word object. He can figure things out very quickly. In a different context with a longer object, it would be better to use the first form. Ex: He can figure out 'how to find the nearest station' very quickly. I hope that helps!

Both are fine, but I agree with Josh. If you place "quickly" in front of the word it modifies ("figure"), your sentence will be clearer either way. Both of these sound natural to me: "He can quickly figure out things" "He can quickly figure things out"

Both sentences are grammatically correct, and they convey the same meaning. The difference lies in their structure: "He can figure out things very quickly." "He can figure things out very quickly." The first sentence ("He can figure out things very quickly.") places the phrasal verb "figure out" before the direct object "things." The second sentence ("He can figure things out very quickly.") places the direct object "things" immediately after the phrasal verb "figure out." In terms of style and flow, both are acceptable. It's mostly a matter of personal preference or what sounds better in the context of the rest of the sentence or paragraph.
