It’s sunny today. After school, by a coincidence, I discovered a mistake that I had said a lot. "You got to do what you got to do." It's a saying everyone knows. But technically it should be "you've got to do". I get to play my gamemaster after dinner, but I've got to finish my assignment at first. This is pesky, people don’t always talk like what they actually write. I’ve never heard of anyone saying "you'VE got to do whatever" under that situation. Maybe my keenness of hearing is dull, who knows?

It’s sunny today. After school, by coincidence, I discovered a mistake that I had said a lot. "You got to do what you got to do." It's a saying everyone knows. But technically it should be "you have to do". I'm allowed to play my gamemaster after dinner, but I have to finish my assignment first. This is pesky, people don’t always speak as they actually write. I’ve never heard of anyone saying "you'VE got to do whatever" in such situations. Maybe my keenness of hearing is dull, who knows?
Don't set your goal to write the way people speak. When you write, use your best English. Those expressions with "get" are for informal chit-chat only. It is better to say: "you have to do what you have to do" or "you must do what you must do". But if you decide to use slang, why not just go for the worst one: "you gotta do what you gotta do"?

There are lots of sounds in English that aren’t stressed clearly, particularly /v/.
A lot of people write ‘should of’ rather than ‘should have’ because it sounds the same.
