Could someone please check if the following sentences sound natural? Two bears
were found in the vicinity of a firm. One was exterminated and the other was
released after given a slap on the wrist (we wouldn’t say this. It means told off) and tagged. Pay close attention when
going to the area.

Pay close attention when going to the area.

Could someone please check if the following sentences sound natural?
Two bears were found in the vicinity of a farm.
One was taken down and the other was released after being tagged and given a slap on the wrist.
Pay close attention when wandering in the area.
To give a slap on the wrist means to get a light punishment after doing something wrong. I don't think this is the best context for that idiom.
