How and when to use until and unless please give some examples to me
Hi Emmanuel , so the meanings of ‘until’ and ‘unless’ have slightly different meanings.
So ‘unless’ is usually used in the context of a particular pre-condition , so in other words - if something is not met.
For example, I will not go to the party unless I have a beautiful dress to wear.
This means that if you don’t have a beautiful dress (which is the condition under which you will go the party) then you won’t go to party.
‘Until’ is usually used in the context of time. It refers to the time that took place before an incident. In other words, it means ‘up to the time of’
For example, I lived with my parents in London until I was 21 years old.
I hope this helps. 😀

Until - means you are talking about a time point in the future
Unless - means you are talking about a condition that must be met in order for an action to take place.
I’ll wait to cook dinner until you get home.
I won’t cook dinner unless you are home.
