Every January, CES (Consumer Electronics Show) is held in Las Vegas. It is a world event where new model cars, concept ones, as well as appliances are revealed. Many new models and prototypes are put up for sale. Unfortunately, I have never been there, but I have been interested in the show for long time. I found an article online about the show held in January this year. It was called "CES2024." The new technologies which integrated "ChatGPT" to vehicles attracted a lot of attention. ChatGPT was developed by the company "OpenAI" in the U.S. It is an AI (Artificial Intelligence) voice assistant. This great technology can learn languages repeatedly by LLM(Large Language Model) and the voice response is more natural, like a human. Its biggest feature is the ability to figure out human's questions. So, ChatGPT is able to understand complicated descriptions and respond accordingly. Volkswagen(VW) announced at CES2024 that they will install(integrate) ChatGPT in its automotive voice assistant, they are calling it IDA. Electric Vehicles (EVs), "ID.7", "ID.5", "ID.4" and conventional ones with gasoline engine (internal combustion engines), "TIGUAN" and "Golf" are going to be equipped with the IDA. They are also coming out around mid-2024 in Europe and North America. Personally, I really hope they will be rolled out as soon as possible in Japan as well.
