Speaking of festival, it usually comes with a vacation. Today, I will introduce one of my favourite festivals to you. It is the Dragon Boat Festival which features Zongzi and boat races. In fact, it is around the corner on the Saturday of this week. This special festival has been last for over 2000 years for being in memory of Qu Yuan, the greatest patriotic poet in Chinese history. He suicided by drowning himself in the river after his advise refused by the tyrant. So, most of the activities on that day are on rivers. Meanwhile, people use reed leaves and rice, nuts and sugar to make the tasty food, Zongzi. The reed leaves are natural wrappers, with sweet filling made of rice , nut and sugar inside, after steamed them for half an hour, then everyone can enjoy it. That's the common part of celebrating The Dragon Boat Festival around my country. Different areas has their unique ways to celebrate it. We have another name for this festival called "端午节”. It's a little bit formal. “端(duan)”means frist here, "午(wu)”means fifth here, "节”menas festival. So," 端午节" menas the fifth day of the lunar May, not the second fifth . It shows double five on canlendar. Dragon Boat is just about one of the avticites, is not very good to describe this festival, especial the word "dragon" can easily be misunderstanded by foreign friends. I almost forget to tell you that there is a three days vacation for us to enjoy this festival, it's amazing! Maybe I should plan a short trip during the vacation.

Suicide is not generally a verb. Advise is a verb; Advisce is a noun. AND goes between the last two items on in a list. Nice job - sounds like a cool festival.

Speaking of festival, it usually comes during a vacation. Today, I will introduce you one of my favourite festivals. It is the Dragon Boat Festival which features Zongzi and boat races. In fact, it is around the corner on this week’s Saturday. This special festival has been lasting for over 2000 years and is held in memory of Qu Yuan, the greatest patriotic poet in Chinese history. He chose to drown himself in the river after his advice was refused by a tyrant. So, most of the activities on that day are happening on water. Meanwhile, people use reed leaves, rice, nuts and sugar to make tasty food: Zongzi. The reed leaves are natural wrappers while the sweet filling is made of rice, nuts and sugar. Zongzis are then steamed for half an hour and everyone can enjoy it. That's the common part of celebrating The Dragon Boat Festival around my country. Different areas have their unique ways to celebrate it. We have another name for this festival called "端午节”. It's a little bit formal. “端(duan)” means first here, "午(wu)” means fifth here, "节” means festival. So," 端午节" means the fifth day of the lunar May, not the second fifth, that’s why we can see a double five on the calendar. The name “Dragon Boat” only refers to one of the activities of the festival so it is not very good to describe this festival, especially the word "dragon" which can easily be misunderstood by foreign friends. I almost forget to tell you that there is a three days’ vacation for us to enjoy this festival, it's amazing! Maybe I should plan a short trip during the vacation.
Interesting, thanks for sharing.
