Hello everyone. Last Wednesday, I watched a movie “Ge Ge Ge no Kitaro. This is a legendary original manga series created by the Shigeru Mizuki. The movie marks Mizuki’s 100th anniversary year. The movie’s characters are very fascinating. Moreover, battle scene is also fantastic. I want to watch it again. First, I want to write about Ge Ge Ge no Kitaro. Kitaro is a yokai boy born in a cemetery after the death of his parents. He is always together with Medama Otaki. He is Kitaro’s most decayed father. Kitaro is the last surviving member of the Ghost Tribe. The story is that Kitaro and his father fight for peace between human and yokai. By the way, do you know yokai? Although I interested in this movie, I’m not familiar with yokai, so I want to search about it. Yokai are mythical creatures in Japanese folklore. Japan has a lot of kind of yokai. Yokai are basically results of how people tried to explain mysterious phenomena. For example, Tengu is often depicted with a long red nose and wings looks like maple. Another example is Kappa. Kappa is a water monster. Looking like a cross-over between a turtle and a human. Yokai is Japanese mythical creature. I understand that yokai is very familiar with Japanese people.
