Hello there, sorry I have a question about these two phrases that I saw in a movie, the first one I understand very well but the second one not really. What I don't understand is what (sight) means in the second phrase? 1 "A sight to gladden my heart" 2 "Imagine a king who fights his own battles, wouldn't that be a sight."

Hi Juan In the second sentence it means, “wouldn’t that be an amazing thing to see happen/to take place.” So the sentence means that kings rarely fight their own battles, so the speaker thinks it would be nice for that to happen for once. Hope that makes sense!

In this case, "sight" = un espectaculo "wouldn't that be a sight" = Eso seria un espectaculo! Good luck!

That means something was awesome the first time you saw It and you didn't hesitate when you started doing what you wanted to do

Do you mean love at first sight?

Wouldn't that be a great thing to see. Sight refers to 'seeing' or 'vision'. This can be a literal meaning , that it would be great to see something physically, or it can be meant in a more ironic or philosophical way. In this instance the phrase you quoted is highlighting the fact not many Kings fight their own battles
