Profesjonalny nauczycielAs a person who was born and raised in a tropical country, my relation with the sun has changed from “hating it to loving it.” How?
Yes, just like me, many other Brazilian people don’t like the shining bright sun we have all year round. We thank when cloudy and rainy days come, or even better, when winter finally shows up with its magical and freezing face. But for me this changed when I found out that my system isn’t so different from the “Superman system”. Yes both of us - and probably all humans - feel stronger and more alive as soon as we sunbathe!
By the way…do you know the difference between sunbathe and sunbath? 👀
Back to the topic: Why? Why did I start loving the sun? Here’s what I discovered:
Basking in the warm glow of the sun is one of life’s simplest pleasures. Beyond the immediate feeling of soothing sunshine on your skin, spending time outdoors offers a range of powerful benefits. The sun helps our bodies produce vitamin D, essential for strong bones, a healthy immune system, and overall well-being. Even brief moments of sunlight exposure can elevate mood, boost energy levels, and support a natural sleep rhythm.
Leisure time in the sun also nurtures a sense of relaxation. Whether you're lounging on a sun-drenched terrace, stretching out on a golden beach, or enjoying a gentle walk under bright, cloudless skies, sunlight encourages you to slow down, unwind, and reconnect with your surroundings. The warm breeze, the soft shimmer of daylight, and the calming heat of sunrays all create the perfect atmosphere for rest and recreation.
In moderation, the sun invites us to enjoy the world more fully—its radiant light, its summery warmth, and the uplifting feeling of stepping into a sun-lit moment where leisure and well-being meet.
It is worth noticing: although I have changed my view - feelings actually - about the sun I never forget about the “moderation” part🫠
What about you? How is your relation with the sun? Use new words to describe it 🤓
