Any accountant could help me?
I am an accountant and I've been studying technical words.
An accountant basically records transactions and by the end of the month it will be necessary to check them to knwo if the balance sheet and the profit ans loss statement is Ok.
I don't know how to say that I am going to record a transaction.
I looked for this word and I found "jornalize".
For example:
I am going to jornalize it and after that I am going to check to see if the balance of the bank account is ok".
Is the "jornalize" communly used? Which word would you use in this context?
I could say: "I am going to record this transaction and after that...."
Thanks!

The standard term is ‘making a journal entry’ and it is usually not used for straightforward transactions like payments and receipts. An accountant might make a journal entry for depreciation, for example.

"enter" as in data entry. Recording transactions is also called "doing the books" whereas creative accounting for tax avoidance is known as "cooking the books." 😀

jornalize is not a word in English, it has no meaning that I know of. I would simply say I'm going to record it, or take record of it. Not journalize
