Does success means money for you ? In my point of view, success and money are different things. I don't exclude money from an evidence of success, but it is not the only statement of success.  There are many other ways to consider yourself successful in life... I would say one of the greatest indicative of success is Happiness! 
When you are satisfied with your life, you are a successful person! 
Now we wonder, what takes one to reach satisfaction, what are the ways one takes to be satisfied. Is it money? Is it a big and united family ? Is it the company of good friends ? Is it life itself ? Is it the simple fact life happens here and now and you feel integrated to it ? 
What does make you feel satisfied anyways ? 

I feel very happy when I am able to achieve my goals, such as a challenges I set to myself, even simple things as taking care of a flower. However, there is something which I believe to be intrinsically connected to success, I am talking about being yourself,  when you detach from ideas and concepts that are only useful to hold you back away from your real self and limit who you are .

Well, between this and that, I think success is a state of mind, it is all about self satisfaction.

I always thought that success means being a very rich man :D having a lot of money and cars :D but actually, I asked a lot of people a lot of times when they  can consider themselves successful or what is the definition of success to them 

but i discovered there is no definition for success, it is a prize that you earn by achieving your goals whatever these goals are.

some people's goal may be spending much time with their families, so if they did that they will achieve their goal and become happier and successful

some others might want to be famous or get a degree or having alot of friends etc.. so I totally agree with you that to be successful you need to be happy by achieve whatever goals you have.

One of the books that changed my perspective  in life was " The Lazy Person's Guide to Success "

it actually discussed how that you waste your whole life for an illusion and you work very hard to get a lot of things that you really don't need them at all.
In general I believe there is a certain amount of money that is essential for everyone and after some kind of level you won't feel happier getting more of it and the more you get the more it will control your life and turn you into a slave to it =)

One of the happiest moments of my life when I remembered that I quit my boring job to enjoy my life in the way I wanted it to be =)

Sometimes money is a reflection of success, not all the time though, and not vice versa.  Allow me to disagree on defining success by happiness, someone can be happy and totally indifferent and selfish.
