In the US, we say "sister cities", but we understand "twin(ned) cities" to mean the same thing.

Anyway, have you tried reaching out through the social media sites for Duluth-centric interests? For instance, the city government's website has a Facebook page (http://www.duluthmn.gov/), as does the local newspaper Duluth News Tribune (http://www.duluthnewstribune.com/). The audience would be more targeted.

I think that what you refer to as "my town and Duluth are sort of sworn brother cities" is what we call 'twin cities' in England. For example Leeds, the city that I am from, is twinned with Brno in the Czech Republic, Colombo in Sri Lanka, Dortmund in Germany, and various other cities around the world.

How crazy is this....Yes I know Duluth, I work there every day! 

So the odds were long, but yes, there is someone on italki from Duluth. :-)
