Which do you prefer more? Attractiveness or intelligence?

Some people pay attention to their appearance abnormally. They spend huge amount of money on cosmetic surgery and designer cloth. They do window shopping every day and they follow fashion shows and latest designs and styles. They want to be attractiveness.

Women take care of their appearance more than men. Beautiful and attractiveness women have a more chance to catch rich man as husband. I have 2 cousins. One of them is so beautiful. I don’t see any women beautiful as much as her. In the result, she married at 19 with a rich man. Her husband had been preparing the best things for her. The best jewelries, clothes, trips, house and car. But she is just a housewife in a luxurious house. She is responsible to rise her kids, do household chores and she always must take care of her appearance for pleasure of her husband. She is such as a slave but in luxurious manner.

In the other hand, another cousin has a simple appearance but extraordinary in intelligence and hardworking. She is so ambitious and full of energy and motivation. She studied at the best university and she got a good job. She is success in her job. The main point is, she make a perfect life independently. She wasn’t wait for a rich man.  She changed her situation by effort. Now she can support her parents too. When I compare these 2 women with each other, I think women who are brave and courageous and use their abilities and talents to make a great life are more attractive than women who spend their time, energy and money on fashion and styles to have a rich husband. Although it is an easy way to reach everything but it is a kind of begging. I envy women who make their life independently.

What is your opinion?

Which do you choose? Attractiveness or intelligence.

Do you like to be an ordinary housewife in a luxurious house or a heroin in your life?

I like to know opinion of men too.

Attractiveness or intelligence? To me, intelligence IS attractive, so I would choose the second cousin. As much as I may admire the beauty of the first cousin, I think I might get bored with her over time.

This does not only apply to men but also to women as well. Intelligence is necessary and physical attractiveness is extra credit.

I would say intelligence is one; attractiveness is zero. If you don't have intelligence, no matter how attractive you are, no matter how many zeros you have, you are still a zero or multiple zeros. If you have intelligence, the more attractive you are, there are more zeros behind the one, the larger the number is and the better it is. Hope you get my weird analogy haha.

I would like to add to a word intelligence words kindness and mercy. These two characters with intillegence  make terrible charming and attractive woman. Of course I like your second couisin's lifestyle.

Maral, but what do your cousins think themselves?

If I were a woman I would much like being able to live my life, realize my ideas and enjoy my hobbies BOTH without marrying a rich man and working hard.  Just like as a man I do this without marrying a rich woman:)

For this I don't really like your queistion. You sound as if there were only 2 ways in life. But then i'd much prefer to stop, to stand and look around andf if I see trees, i like trees. Why should I even think of these two roads? Most of my friends are just doing what they want... they might worry about how much do they realize themselves, do what they like, like what they do, are they happy after all. They just don't think of this:/
If your country/society/enviroment/circumstances of your life pressurizes you to chose between these two, I personally find this sad:/

If you are only interested in money - you won't notice me, and I won't notice you and that's fine. Should I pursue each bird on every tree for that they just fly and sing and have no interest in quanum physics? But your cousin might be less empty than what the reader might think judging by 'just' [a housewife] and 'jewelry, cars' etc.

So it makes sense to ask her first. Does she have any unrealized ambitions, talents, inclinations?
