It also depends upon the environment you may have to practice English, for example if you live in an English speaking country, you do have a lot of friends to talk with, you might have a great chance of practicing your speaking and listening very more whereas you may need more time in reading and writing by yourself. However, some other people living and working in a non-English speaking country can still have good command of English simply because those people realize how to create good environments to learn English with efficiency in view of current technology that may easily reach for online English materials to practice listening and reading and to meet  good language partners through social networks. 

I prefer to enhance my listening through story readings by a narrator,  which are available on Youtube. 

I personally believe that tuning into English is the main key. Especially in developing fluency, one should make speaking English as a habit. Hence we can expand vocabularies, expressions, etc. in English directly and not through our native language. Watching American movies is very much entertaining, though. So yeah, there's a variety means in mastering a language. But practice makes perfect :)
