Ĉar ĝi estas bona ideo kaj mi havas la tempon.  Miaj gepatroj menciis ĝin al me kiam mi estis eble naŭ-jara.  Ekde tiam, mi fasciniĝas pri la ideo kaj nun mi estas emeritiĝanta.  Mi dubas ke ĝi kreus mondan pacon eĉ se multaj homoj parolus ĝin, sed mi estas aktivulo pri biciklado ankaŭ, kaj mi ne kredas ke biciklado savos la mondon.  Ne sola, ciukaze.  Bonaj ideoj estas bonaj ideoj.  Vivu en la momento!

Because it's a good idea and I have the time.  My parents mentioned it to me when I was perhaps nine years old.  Since then I have been fascinated with the idea and now I am retired.  I doubt that it would create world peace even if many people spoke it, but I am an adovate for bicycling, too, and I don't believe that bicycling will save the world.  Not by itself, anyway.  Good ideas are good ideas!  Live in the moment!

Mi proveklernas esperanto Ĉar ĝi estas faĉillerna lingvo kaj mi esperas kaj kredas ĝi helpos min lerni aliajn Eŭropajn lingvojn (speciala Romancajn lingvojn). Ankaŭ, ĝi estas amuzlerna lingvo, kaj la tutmondaesperantistaro tre interesas min.

Mi ŝategegegas longajn vortojn, kaj la esperanta sistemo estas mojosa. Eĉ ke Esperanto ne estas sukcesa, ĝi estas tre interesa, mi ne imagas planlingo povas populara kaj parolata egan komunon.

Haha I read this more than 8 months late, but I'll still try to answer it anyway.

I am trying to start learning Esperanto because it is an easy to learn langauge, and I hope and believe in its propaedeutic value in learning other European languages (especially Romance ones). Also, it is a very interesting to learn language, and the global Esperanto community interests me.

I love long words, and the Esperanto system for forming compound words is quite cool. Even if Esperanto isn't successful as a global auxlang, it is still very interesting; I never imagined a conlang could be popular and spoken by so big a community.

Curiosity, initially -- what is an invented language like? Is it really as easy as they say?
