scheduling problems

Is anyone else having issues where students are able to request times that are not on your schedule?

I have had several problems recently where I have long-standing appointments booked off -- and then, a student buys a package and includes a session in one of these blocked off times.  I am so used to trusting that the calendar is reliable that I don't check individual session requests but lately it seems that what students see, and what my settings are set to = doesn't match.

I've had the opposite problem: Italki wouldn't let me choose a slot that the teacher had marked as available. So, I scheduled the lesson for another time, told the teacher about the problem, and she rescheduled the lesson for the time that I actually wanted. I wonder if that's happened to others as well. If so, it's kind of a big deal: students may go away, teachers may lose potential income...

In my experience, I have a regular schedule set, but if I make a couple of changes, my schedule is reverted to my normal schedule.  It's quite frustrating for both myself and my students.  Besides this problem, after the last update, Italki has been making me available for instant tutoring, even when I'm not online.  I'm really hoping they'll fix the problems soon.

Thx, Irena -- yes -- scheduling is supposed to be seamless.  Now I'm manually checking that requested sessions *are* within my schedule.

We have a regular calendar which (for me) doesn't change much, and then, also -- the option to edit availability each day if necessary.

I've made some alterations to the availability each day but people's requests are getting through i.e. I think they are seeing my generic weekly calendar rather than my updated calendar (e.g. this week, no Thursday evening, no Tuesday evening -- but only this week)
