Why CNN is more difficult to read than entrepreneur.com inc.com, success .com ,....??

I 'v forced myself to read one English article from authentic resources everyday,but when it's come to CNN's turn,i Will be  completely freaked out.My Reading skills is good(8.5 in IELTS.)but i still have problem with CNN?



and the other  one which i always have problem with is:Native's comments in Instagram.I know they use a slew of acronyms.but after memorizing all internet slang and acronym .i still bogging down in comments

I suggest that you read the newspaper USA Today. It is written at a very low level. I'm not trying to insult you. This may be a good way for you to see what's going on until your fluency improves.

Hi all .I have the same problem  not exclusively CNN but also with other media.They are difficult to interpret ....

I think your reading skill is good enough to understand the articles on CNN if you have grabbed about 10k vocabulary words. I had been reading article on CNN for about one month. I could understand the general meanings, but I could not understand those articles exactly without an English dictionary in hand.

CNN uses more complex sentence structures than BBC News.

Look at this, from an article on CNN.com: "A mood of fateful anticipation is cloaking Washington, with possible arrests imminent after the federal grand jury in the Russia investigation approved its first charges."

If this were to be rewritten using a simpler sentence structure, it would look something like this: The mood in Washington is getting filled with fateful anticipation. The federal grand jury in the Russia investigation has approved its first charges. It's possible that there will be many arrests.

Hi Craig i love your self-depreciation sense.Actually i used CNN as benchmark,so i think BBC is more articulate for nonnative to read.I mean me by myself, don't have problem with it,but i'v gotten this problem and question for a while ?

where is the problem ?how can i solve it?

My vocabularies range is about 10k.but when i start to read CNN ,Literally i'll get stuck in a first paragraph.
