I took a nice 150-mile walk two months ago. It was beautiful. I plan to take a 250-mile walk this summer, and hopefully I'll also have the chance for a few 20-mile or 30-mile weekends. Today, there was a warm rain, and I quit everything to walk in the rain in a local park. I made friends with a few stunningly lovely slugs (Philomycus Carolinianus, my favorite slug species!)--I also slipped in the mud, and completely ruined a good pair of pants. It was worth it, though.
