無辜（むこ）=罪のない＝ innocent

これは、刑事事件の大原則を示した言葉で、死刑を反対する理由です。証拠が不十分なのに自白を強要して犯人を作り上げることは、十人の真犯人を逃がすことよりも、ひどい行為であるという意味だと思います。
