As you say, this isn't exactly a dating advice column but at least it is an international forum so to that extent it's applicable. In my view a man is a man anywhere and a woman is a woman anywhere. As they say, we are the same species. While marrying within your own country and culture ensures a certain cultural compatibility, this is by no means essential.
I've seen Indians married to Americans, British, French, Italians, Spanish, Russians, Germans and Australians among others. I've also seen north or east Indians married to south or central Indians, and believe me that's about as international as anything else in terms of language, customs and culture.
You may be asked "what do you know of a man from a faraway place like that?" but that's an invalid question. In reality you know or don't know just as much about a man who lives across the street. The pairing game is always a bit of a gamble. All you have to do is to try to know him before as best as humanly possible.
