You are never too old to set a new dream..

One of my favorite quotes in life is a quote by C.S. Lewis. “You are never too old to set another goal or dream another dream”.

I often heard comments from people that “age is hindrance to success”. I heard people say that,” you are too old to start a family or you are too old to set new dreams”. I have met people who started having a family at 40 years old and they had their child the same year. Although of course it is risky but it is not impossible.

Perhaps, in sports, I heard people say to others that “they are too old to finish a marathon”. I have met people who became successful later in life and perhaps I have also witnessed people who finished marathons at the age of 66. She was even stronger than people half her age. She did not allow people to tell her that she was too old to finish a trail marathon.

Let us relate this to learning a language. You will often hear people say, “I am too old to learn a new language”. Although of course, you have an advantage if you started early, I still think that a person is never too old to set a new goal. Of course, we need to factor in being realistic.

@Darya Go for it! Of course living in a new country has some benefits. It is better to do it after the pandemic.

I completely agree. I'm older learning a new language and I'm making good progress. As long as you try hard anything is possible. I've also accomplished others things in my adult life that I never thought I could do. Hard work and commitment is important. It'll take awhile but anything is possible.
