Why English has so many rules? Why English is so difficult to learn unlike other languages?
Be thankful that English completely lacks genders, declensions and tones, and that it has a very limited system of cases (they only matter for pronouns), conjugation (it only exists in the third person singular) and random word order changes (sentence inversion doesn't happen often, and is usually considered old fashioned). They can make grammar extremely difficult, and usually don't affect the meaning of a sentence at all.
English spelling is largely inconsistent, but it's still significantly better than languages that completely lack an alphabet.
If you gave English a spelling reform and abolished cases and conjugation, English would be much more logical.
First of all, there's no language which is hard, it's just that your judgement is relative(Don't tell me to prove it). If a language is hard then why the native person speaks it with an ease, it's because there are certain factors including that he lived in the surrounding. But if you haven't, then it doesn't simply mean that you can't. There are two ways by which you can be in total immersion with the language. First ofcourse is the external environment that is a gift to native people. Other, relatively tough, is internal environment. Make yourself immersed in non native language & create virtual world. It can be watching, listening, self talk, even talking. It's not easy though, but if it would have been perhaps you won't have been showing faceson language sites.
To all of you
Chinese will be easy to learn if you're in China.
What? English the hardest language? No, I don't think so.
I agree that English has many rules, but it's not the hardest language. According to effectivelanguagelearning.com, the most difficult languages are:
- Arabic
- Cantonese (Chinese)
- Mandarin (Chinese)
- Japanese
- Korean
English is fun. Sometimes English doesn't make sense at all, but English is the language of the world.
I love English, I hope one day be fluent in English =)
Oh, I must say, when I found so many guys choose Chinese as one of the most difficult launguages, I feel much better :P...You know what I mean... BTW, I am learning English now. If you want to learn Mandrin, I would be happy to your partner. Thanks.
