Business English news focus for today: Foolish error of "Motley Fool", a world Top 10 investing website

Hi! I'm a language exchanger (previously a long-time teacher) with an interest in business language.

Here is an extract from the "Motley Fool" foolDOTCOM website - one of the world's Top 10 investing websites ranking just behind CNBC - writing about Microsoft Office, Apple iOS, Android OS and Windows 8:

"For a subscription service that was launched just tree years ago, that's not bad. Especially since Microsoft's business model is fundamentally changing." [You can Google the title using quotation marks: "After iPad, Will Microsoft Corporation Bring Office to Android Before Windows?"]

Can you identify the writing error here? Even native speakers at undergraduate levels often make a mistake with this more difficult problem. HINT: There is a simple problem as well as a more difficult problem (grammatical) here.

There's the typo "tree" instead of "three".  Starting a sentence with "Especially since" is incorrect.

   The Motley Fool is a website that I also use along with others.

It is a great subject  for English lessons.

 I think that two of the important subjects that seldom get mention as the focus of English Learning are Mathematics and Stock Investment subjects.

Did you want English speakers to find the errors... or English learners?

Thanks Ricardo for your comment.

CAPITALS (heh heh) are used above just as one way to place special emphasis on an important word/concept in the sentence. There can be other ways to do this.

In the case of essays, how you use capitals in titles/headings, sub-headings or elsewhere, should be determined by whichever "style manual" is prescribed by the organization or academic community that the essay is for. This is just an internet discussion board of course.

I might as well add here my last tip about SENTENCE FRAGMENTS (heh heh again):

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A good rule of thumb to use: beware of the situation when you start a sentence with conjunctions such as AFTER, ALTHOUGH, SINCE, WHEN, WHILE, WITH, as it is most likely to be the beginning of a Dependent/Subordinate Clause; so make sure that you also successfully integrate the separate main Independent Clause into the same sentence. Sometimes this may mean moving the Dependent Clause to a position that is not at the beginning of the sentence (although Dependent Clauses can also often begin sentences, with the main Independent Clause appearing later in the same sentence).
Hi, an interesting topic. It was easy to spot on the text. I am also a bit worried about this tendency of capitalizing each single word in a sentence. It's ok in titles but I come accross that habit too often in the middle of essays. Greetings to everyone! :)
