When I started to work as a Spanish teacher, my superior impressed me as an experienced educator with detailed knowledge, original ideas, and ample passion. However, with time this original impression crumbled. Along with my colleagues, I gradually came to recognize in her manner a facade that tricked us to sacrifice our selves for the school as our workload grew unbearable. On the surface, she may seem to care about the opinions of students and other teachers, but underneath, she always does as she wants, and ignores whatever others might think. Her so-called "consultations" and "requests for advice" have all been shams. She will have her way no matter the cost.
