Have you heard "Don't underestimate me."? and "Don't patronize me.". Could you teach me about how to use 'patronize' and 'underestimate'? When I study English I found a word 'underestimate'. In the text wrote,"You just can't underestimate the summer heat.". I hit on a phrase that don't underestimate me. For example, when friend of mine and I are cocking something together she asked me 'Can you peel a potato?'. For example as I'm good at cook. I reply her "Absolutely, I can do it,don't underestimate me."(with smile) Can I say or use "Don't underestimate me."? According to another text,we never say "Don't underestimate me.". For me,I will say ”SCREW YOU!". But it's not polite. Or else,We use "You're shitting with me.","Don't shit with me.","Don't mess with me!","Are you kidding me !!?? ". I was confused after reading that article. Have you heard "Don't underestimate me."? While you are at it,have you heard "Don't patronize me."? I assume "don't underestimate me." and "don't patronize me." are same meaning.

Have you heard "Don't underestimate me."? and "Don't patronize me.".

Could you teach me  how to use 'patronize' and 'underestimate'?
When I study English I found a word 'underestimate'.
The text wrote,"You just can't underestimate the summer heat.".
I hit  a phrase that don't underestimate me. (??)
For example, when a friend of mine and I are cooking (it is very important you spell this correctly, look up the other word you used) something together she asked me 'Can you peel a potato?'.
For example as I'm good at cook.
I reply her "Absolutely, I can do it, don't underestimate me."(with smile)
Can I say or use "Don't underestimate me."?

According to another text,we never say "Don't underestimate me.".
For me,I will say ”SCREW YOU!".
But it's not polite.
Or else,We use "You're shitting with me.","Don't shit with me.","Don't mess with me!","Are you kidding me !!?? ".

I was confused after reading that article.

Have you heard "Don't underestimate me."?
While you are at it, have you heard "Don't patronize me."?

I assume "don't underestimate me." and "don't patronize me." have the same meaning.

No, they do not have the same meaning. "Do not underestimate me." means "Do not doubt my abilities". Here are some other phrases that would have the same meaning. "I assure you I can do this!" "I will accomplish what is before me." "I will complete my task." "I am capable."

"Don't patronize me" - "Do not pick on me." "Do not challenge me inappropriately." "Do not try to start an arguement."

You may use both of these phrases politely when they fit the conversation. However, the word "patronize" is more formal.
