Unattended Children's New Year Wish This morning, I was touched by a special news about the unattended children in rural area of China. the news was about their New Year wishes. without wishing new clothes, gifts, they just want to spent a Chinese New Year accompany with their parents. even such basic need was hardly to meet. As we know, there are more 1.3 billion people in China, of which nearly 900 million are farmers. 50% of the farmers became migrant workers. Inorder to earn more money to support their families, these people left their hometown and do low works in big city, such as builder, auto repair, waiters/ waitress, etc. They have only on chance to go back their hometown because of far distance and barriers of buying a train ticket during the Spring Festival travel season. On the other hand, some of the unattended children pray for their parents to gain a train ticket, because they hadn't seen their parents for 3-5 years, they always miss them, and they complained them, even they thought their parents don't love them anymore. some children hate big city, because big city attracted their parents; some admire big city, because "big city" equals "money, good life". Both of these two attitude is not good for children's growth. This is not only a social problem, but also the wrong value of the whole country. because of the unfair treatment between rich people and poverty people, people care money more than their families. We can not expect a government could be able to change the current situation, but I believe that education and faith can held us.

Unattended Children's New Year Wish

This morning, I was touched by news about unattended children in rural areas of China. The news was about their New Year wishes. Without wishing for new clothes or gifts, they just want to spent a Chinese New Year with their parents. Although basic, the need is hard to meet. As we know, there are more than 1.3 billion people in China, of which nearly 900 million are farmers. 50% of the farmers have become migrant workers. In order to earn more money to support their families, these people left their hometown to do meagre jobs in big cities, such as building, auto repair, waitstaffing, etc. They have only one chance per year to go back to their hometown because of the distance and the additional barrier of buying a train ticket during the Spring Festival travel season.
On the other hand, some of the unattended children pray for their parents to get a train ticket, because they haven't seen their parents for 3-5 years. They always miss them, and they complained? them, they even think their parents don't love them anymore. Some children hate big cities, because big cities attracted their parents; some like big cities, because "big city" equals "money, good life".
Both of these attitudes are not good for children's growth.
This is not only a social problem, but also a negative value of the whole country. Due to of the unfair treatment between rich people and poor people, people care about money more than their families.
We cannot expect the government to be able to change the current situation, but I believe that education and faith can help us.
