Common Ways to Say "Nice talking to you" and Related Usage Tips
I was recently asked about the most common ways to express that it was a pleasant experience to converse with someone at the end of a conversation. ;) Here is my answer:
When you say "talk" it's more natural to say "to" than "with".
When you say "chat" or "speak" it's more common to say "with" than "to".
Examples:
"Nice to talk to you again."
"It was great chatting with you!"
"Thank you for speaking with me."
Some of these types of generic phrases that are most common (for me) are:
"It was nice to talk to you!" (usually after a convo), or
"It was nice speaking with you."
Also "it was great" phrases, like "It was great to talk to you."
Furthermore, sometimes we cut off the subject especially with less enthusiastic situations (i.e. you're just saying it to be polite)... such as: "Nice talking to you." or "Great to see you." etc. Hope this helps someone. :)
