Salir adelante: No matter <em>how hard the</em> <em>circumstances</em>, I have to <em>keep my cool to</em> get ahead. 

Go on:
Continuar: I can't go on telling lies.
Partir: I went on to London this morning, that's why I am so tired.

Go over:
Repasar: I went over the exam three <em>times</em> before <em>handing</em> it in to the teacher.
Darle vueltas en la cabeza: I am going over what she said [in my mind]. 

Kick out:
Echar a patadas: They <em>kicked</em> me out <em>of</em> the office when I quit.

Lay off:
Despedir en masa: My company <em>laid-</em>off some workers because of the economic crisis. 

Let down:

Make up:
