"Yes sir, she is always at home." said the child. The stranger jump over the gate and rang a doorbell. He waited. The door remained closed. He turned to the child... "We live four doors down the street" replied the girl. Whether correctly or not did I use articles?

The stranger jumped over the gate and rang the a doorbell. He waited. The door remained closed. He turned to the child... "We live four doors down the street" replied the girl.
