Christmas in Russia Actually we do not celebrate Christmas such as in European countries. In Russia it is at 7th January and it mostly religious holiday. Everything which is about X-mas we do on New Year(31st December). Just one day instead of 5! But its crazy day! Most of people work until 5 or even 8 p.m. And you have to go shopping ???? and prepare for celebration! What a stressful day! Everything starts at 00:00 with the peal of bells. Time for the New Years party! To be continued...

I'm glad you have told us this "Vikachuu", I saw the Christmas decorations in Moscow in December and I watched a video of the New Year fireworks. I intend to return and hopefully experience this period in the company of Russian friends.

The 31st of December is New years Eve, the 1st of January is New Years Day. Not one day as such, but mostly within a 24 hour period.
