Not a big difference
all of them are " اوزان " for the verb in the past
لَعِبَ = played " الوزن " is " فَعِلَ "
أَكَلَ = ate " الوزن " is " فَعَلَ "
رَحُب = expanded " الوزن " is " فَعُلَ
It's like tunes for the verbs in Arabic

The last one is only for " intransitive " verbs

almost there are no deference , we also Arabs people doesn't use these grammars

بالنسبة للفرق بين الثلاثة المذكورة
1- فَعَلَ و فَعِلَ : أفعال ماضية تكون لازمة ( فعل و فاعل فقط ) و تكون متعدية ( فعل و فاعل و مفعول به )
مثال اللازم : بكَى أحمد , فرِح أحمد. مثال المتعدي : أكَل أحمد التفاحةَ , فهِم أحمد الدرسَ.
2- فَعُلَ : فعل ماضي لازم فقط ( فعل و فاعل ) و لا يكون متعدياً.
مثال: عَذٌب الماءُ , عَظُمَ الخطبُ ,

تسمى هذه الأفعال ( الأفعال الثلاثية المجردة ) و نعني بها الفعل المكون من ثلاثة أحرف و جميع حروفه أصلية ليس فيها حرف مزيد.
يوجد 6 أبواب في هذا الموضوع مقسمة حسب مجموع الأفعال التي تندرج تحت كل باب, و يصعب حصر أفعال كل باب لكن يمكن الرجوع
للقواميس العربية لمعرفة مصدر الفعل.

These verbs is called ( الفعل الثلاثي المجرد ) it means that these are verbs with 3 origin letters (ABC) only. There are 6 type of these verbs; the first kind has more verbs than the other 5 and so on.
It's hard to count every single verb of these types, but you can always get back to an Arabic dictionary to know the type of any verb.
