Older people who need employment have to compete with younger people. What problems will be caused? Topic: Older people who need employment have to compete with younger people. What problems will be caused? And what are the solutions? [This is a topic in academic writing, hope someone can give me some comments on my language and content, thank you very much.] These years, it has been common to see older people competing with younger generations in the job-hunting market, which puts the young people at a disadvantage in getting job opportunities and makes the older feel at a loss in the modern workplace. In order to tackle these problems, I suggest both the government and companies should take some effective actions. Firstly, young people have abundant, cutting edge theoretical knowledge but lack work practice which is generally required by many companies to ensure they are qualified for certain jobs. In this situation, the experienced older people are more valued, while the young are less likely to be hired and sometimes even cannot get interview opportunities. When it comes to older people, many people would agree that it is such a challenge for the old to use advanced equipment such as computers and automated manufacturing machines, though they have accumulated rich experience in the field before. Taking this into consideration, the older workers would inevitably undergo a lot of pressure. In terms of solutions, the government should modify the current education system and spare students more time to do internship programmes, thus helping them gain some relevant work experience before graduation. Moreover, companies need provide the older workers with training courses to help them adapt to the fresh new work environment. With these changes, both the young and the older can become more competent. In conclusion, older people themselves may also take pressure when competing with the less experienced young people for employment, but the government and companies can take an active part in improving the embarrassing situation by perfecting the current education system or offering special skill training.

These last/past few years, it has been common to see older people competing with younger generations in the job-hunting market, which puts the young people at a disadvantage in getting job opportunities and makes the older people feel at a loss in the modern workplace. In order to tackle these problems, I suggest both the government and companies should take some effective actions.

Firstly, young people have abundant, cutting edge theoretical knowledge but lack work experience which is generally required by many companies to ensure employees are qualified for certain jobs. In this situation, the older, more experienced employees are more valued, while the young are less likely to be hired and sometimes cannot even get interview opportunities.

When it comes to older people, many people would agree that it is such a challenge for them to use advanced equipment such as computers and automated manufacturing machines, regardless of the rich experience they have already accumulated in the field. Taking this into consideration, the older workers would inevitably undergo a lot of pressure (continue: pressure to do what? Eg. to keep up with the rapidly developing technology).

In terms of solutions, the government should modify the current education system and give students more time and opportunities to do internship programmes, thus helping them gain some relevant work experience before graduation. Moreover, companies need to provide the older employees with training courses to help them adapt to the fresh new work environment. With these changes, both the young and the older can become more competent in their field of work.

In conclusion, older people themselves may also take pressure when competing with the less experienced younger people for employment, but the government and companies can take an active part in improving this paradoxical situation by perfecting the current education system or offering special skills training.
