Please, help me with my task! I have written a letter and now I want to know if are there are many mistakes or not:)
The task is:
You have received a letter from your pen-friend Tom who writes:
… In our city we have an annual competition for teenagers who make their own short films. This year I got the second prize for a film about my grandparents. Do you think it’s important to record family history? Who do you think should do it? How can it be done best?
This month is my mom’s birthday and now I am thinking about a gift for her. I want it to be very special…
Write a letter to Tom.
In your letter:
− answer his questions
− ask 3 questions about his mom
Write 100 – 140 words.
Remember the rules of letter writing.
My response is:
Dear Tom,
Thank you for your letter! It was nice to hear from you! I must apologize for not writing for so long, (but) I've been busy with (my) exams.
Great news about your success in the competition! I imagine your film is awesome! (By the way), it's important to record family history because it's always essential to know about your ancestry. I think (that) recording history is the responsibility of the younger generation. There are many ways to do it, for example writing a book or making a family tree, but the best way is making a film. So you made the right choice!
I want to know more about your mom! How old is she? Has she got any hobbies or special interests? What is her profession?
(Anyway, I have to go because my mom asked me to help her. )

"I suppose your film is awesome!" -- In this sentence, 'suppose' sounds sarcastic in English, so I changed it to 'imagine'.
There are too many words! The words and phrases that I have put in (brackets) could be removed without changing the the meaning very much.
