My couchsurfing experience in Guangzhou - Let's be friends and start chatting Hi I'm Shawn from China. I like making friends and meeting new people. It has been a while since I wrote an article last time. I have been a little busy recently. I would like to talk about my experience of attending a regular couchsurfing meeting for the second time in my hometown Guangzhou. I haven't been there for a long time since I went there last time because I have been on a business trip since October, last year. I went there with my friend Conall but unfortunately we lost the track of the direction. We had been circling around the region until he figured out that he had better contact his friend who could take us there. Therefore we had to head back to the place where we started in the metro station and waited for his friend. It wan't too long before we met him and finally we got to the couchsurfing spot. When we got there, there had already been around 15 people there talking and laughing, which didn't surprise me at all. I chose to sit down beside an energic girl and we started chatting. In the conversation, I knew that she had just come to Guangzhou about one month ago and currently she was planning to stay here for about 2-3 years before moving to a new place. We were there talking about her travelling experience and how she felt about Guangzhou so far. Before I left there, I took the intiative to ask about her plan the next day. She said that she didn't have any idea and asked about my opinion. Thinking for a while, I proposed that we should have a morning tea in the morning and visit Redtory in the afternoon. Because of the emergent appointment, I felt sorry for my language partner and I had to cancel it and get prepared for my schedule the next day. I telephoned the restaurant and figured out how its booking system worked. Reserving a table online, I headed to the metro station and waited for the US couple. Getting into the restaurant, you could see so many people waiting there. I was glad that I had booked the table online otherwise we would have had wait for over an hour. After having a nice lunch, we took a bus to the Redtory. It is a famous art gallery for people to come and visit. We saw so many abstract modern piece of art work there. Finally, they invited me to visit their apartment. I really had a nice time playing with their dog and we took a photo before we said goodbye.
