About reading
Recently,(Should I have to use present perfect when I use"Recently"?)I am reading the masterwork:"Pride and Prejudice".I read the book very slowly,because there are many things I can't understand.Maybe it's because there are some grammar I dont know.It is extremely different from our reading materials used in school.It describes stroies so flexible while our reading materials do it very seriously.I can easily understand our reading materials,but I cant understand what English books and English native speakers'writing want to express.
Could you tell me why?

I can easily understand our reading materials, but I cannot understand what English books and English native writers want to express.Could you tell me why?

P & P comes from another age and it is rare to find someone who speaks like that today. However, its English is still valid, and if you want to speak that way then you can and most people will understand you.
