My name is Carlos Navarro and I am a student in the undergraduate Biology program at Universidad Simón Bolívar in Caracas, Venezuela. I am currently attending the last year out of a 5 year study program and I am working in the Laboratory of Nutritional Assesment of my university, directly collaborating with head of laboratory, Professor Hector Herrera, in the assessing of different populations anthropometric mesurements, but since I am more interested in the field of nutrigenomics and nutrigenetics I am therefore looking for some opportunities to develop my career in that specific field. This trimester I am developing a seminar about the PPARg nuclear receptor and the polymorphisms of the gene that influences the development of obesity in humans, and I actually came across with your recent work on the subject and I am using it as a reference for my seminar. My university program requires I complete a trainee or internship and I am actively looking for opportunities abroad to work on a research project in the field of nutrigenomics or nutrigenetics. I have heard my university has exchange agreements with Uppsala Unviersitet and I know of one or two fellow Biology that are currently participitating in research groups at Uppsala. I am very interested in being part of a research project at Uppsala, and would welcome a chance to discuss further opportunities for research study.
