A memorable game from Colombian football team against England Guys, this may be a nice opportunity to write my first entry, since I felt I was in the obligation of expressing myself. But I didn't wanted to happen in the regular social media (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) full of Colombians friends of mine looking forward to share their thoughts on today's match against England although I already know them well. This time, I thought I could give an interesting impression of something important to me (and that could be of someone's interest) and at the same time, reinforcing my English speaking skills. Well, the thing is actually simple. As you may know, football culture has a great importance in Colombia, it is "pan de cada día" as we would say. Today we were defeated by the English team in the round of 16 by penalties. But in spite the result (and the questionable referee's decisions) we, the Colombians are greatly proud and happy for our team and our defender Yerry Mina. I think that the Colombian football team (rich in personal stories of overcoming) can gives us more teachings that what we would have ever thought; they united us as a country, they shown faith, they worked as a team, they lived with passion, they learnt from their errors, they played hard until the last minute, and they procured to shown the greatest respect from other's teams. I don't know, maybe you are not interested in football at all... But this is something big in Colombia. Maybe reading this, could make you go and read the biography of some of our players, for instance "the fisherman" Carlos Bacca, or for instance reading about the suffered region where Yerri Mina comes, "Guachené"... or maybe it could not. Anyways, I am not doing this for you, bur for me... I don't know, I suddenly wanted to write. And why not to write about "beautiful game"? P.: What a great World Cup from Japan team also. I was really impressed on how they shown to the world about order and work team.
