Yep, it happens occasionally. It always feels a bit adventurous, however I prepare well before traveling to minimize random things happening. I know how to use navigation apps and maps, so I've never found myself lost in unfamiliar places. Another thing that helps me a lot is a pretty accurate sense of time. Very often I can predict how much time it will take to get somewhere down to a few minutes, even for long distance trips. Of course, for time critical events I prefer to have (give myself) an extra 30-60 minutes :)
