My elder female cousin used to be my idol.
She is 5 years older than me, she seems didn't study hard, but she could get a top score among students. She used to be very introverted and nervous, but she jumped out her comfort zone becoming the monitor and made a lot of friends.
As her little sister, she was like always ahead of me and led me. I dreamed to be an excellent student just like her.
Nowadays, it's hard for me to name an idol any more, because I value my own thoughts so much and I rely on myself. Having an idol or not, I still know well about myself: which I can do or which I can't. I would say the impact of having an idol is decreased for me as I have become an adult so many years.
I don't have an idol in life now, but there are many people I show my respect and look to them. I think people is not perfect, but there is always some aspects I can refer to as a role model.

My elder female cousin used to be my idol. She is 5 years older than me, she didn’t (or doesn’t if it’s present tense) seem to study hard, but she could get a top score among students. She used
to be very introverted and nervous, but she jumped out of her comfort zone becoming a
monitor (what does this mean?) and made a lot of friends. As her little sister, she was always
ahead of me and led me. I dreamed of being an excellent student just like her.

My older female cousin used to be my idol.
She is five years older than me. She didn’t seem to study hard, yet she was always among the top students. She used to be very introverted and nervous, but she stepped out of her comfort zone, became the class monitor, and made many friends.
As her younger cousin, she was always ahead of me, guiding me. I dreamed of becoming an excellent student just like her.
Nowadays, it’s hard for me to name an idol because I value my own thoughts and rely on myself. Whether I have an idol or not, I know myself well—I understand what I can and cannot do. I would say that the influence of having an idol has decreased as I have grown older.
I don’t have an idol in life now, but there are many people I respect and look up to. I believe that no one is perfect, but everyone has certain qualities that can serve as inspiration.
Tip: Use look up to someone instead of look to them when talking about admiring people. Also, aspects I can refer to as a role model is unnatural—it’s better to say qualities that can serve as inspiration or qualities I can learn from.
